Public BBQ

Ravenswood Showground Campground provides a spacious camping area with both basic and newer amenities blocks featuring hot showers and clean toilets. Powered sites are available for $21, with weekly rates at $77 including power and water. The campground offers plenty of room with options for shaded or sunny spots, and welcomes dogs. Its convenient location allows easy walking access to Ravenswood's historic town center, pubs, and nearby lookout. The facility serves as an excellent base for exploring the area's historical buildings and self-guided audio tours. Bird life is abundant throughout the grounds. While facilities are basic, they're functional and well-maintained by a friendly caretaker, making it suitable for overnight stays or extended visits.

You should first check with Charters Towers council about the rules and restrictions.

Generally, it is permissible to utilize your own gas BBQ, provided it remains under continuous supervision. However, the usage of Charcoal BBQ's is typically restricted, with the exception of parks equipped with designated charcoal disposal bins.
